HANDS training by Washu-M HANDS training by Washu-M
You know... I really don't like drawing hands because they take too long compared to other body parts... feet as well but at least you can put the feet into a shoe and stuff ^^;

That's why I'm always training to draw them faster... :D

thought anyone would like to take a look...
In some of them I used a little perspective. :)

Hope it may help to see how I do the rough sketch of it's form

see ya!

Wow, these are great! And having the rough sketch next to the finished one gives a great insight into how you drew them.

I'm going to be staring at these studies for ages.
Is is alright if I use them as Research material for my own obsession of re-drawing floating cartoon limbs?

At one point I didn't want to tread that ground, either :)
But I sucked it up and forced myself to do it :salute:
So I guess it's all in the practice, huh?

I know people might jump on me for saying this, but this looks useful as reference for other people (pose, maybe if it's a hard-to-find pose, but I'm thinking more the structure built with the 'basic shapes').

I always get stuck on the palm. I never seem to get the shape right and this looks like it might help. c:

Nice practice. :o

I hate hands too. My avatar is the only even semi-good picture of a hand I've ever drawn. (that's why it's my avatar. I'm proud to death of that thing)

Well anycase a huge thanks is in order for the assistance, like you say the hands are a tricky thing to do but man what a feeling when your able to communicate them with the rest of the body.

These poses of the hands definitely deal with a number of challenging angles and I see you even did some perspective shots as well. That as well as your sketches really will help out a boatload, thank you kindly Washu-M!

I see a lot of people saying "Thanks! I'll totally use this as a reference!" and I kind of want to advise against it. I mean, this is a wonderful drawing and as a reference for setup and form, yes, it's terrific! But as an anatomy reference, you're losing something in translation if you don't draw from life where possible. I'd encourage people to draw from their own hands, or even from photographs if they can, before drawing from a drawing. :>

But these drawings ARE very useful and I'm definitely adding to my own faves. :D

Hands! Those are always one of the hardest things to draw, even though they can be fun too. It's always great to be able to find static references in complex and complicated gestures.
